(The Article is updated on 23 April 2022) WWE Money In the Bank is considered as 5th top pay-per-view in WWE after the big four (WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series). The list of Money in the Bank winners is long from 2005 to 2018. Earlier, Money in the Bank matches was part of WrestleMania but from 2010 it became a separate pay-per-view (PPV).

In 2010, it was part of WrestleMania 26 and also become a separate PPV later year. 21 Money in the Bank matches is in history books. In which, 19 winners are men and 2 are women. From Money in the Bank 2017, a women’s ladder match was also added to the show.
Here is the list of all Money In The Bank winners in WWE history.
#1 Edge
Edge was the first-ever MITB winner in WWE. He won the MITB contract at Wrestlemania 21 in 2005. He cashed in his contract against John Cena at New Year’s Revolution 2006. His cash-in was considered one of the most iconic MITB cash-ins in WWE.
Bloodied John Cena just survived from Elimination Chamber match for WWE Championship then Vince McMahon hit the stage and announced Edge’s Money in the Bank contract cash in. It was considered Edge’s one of the most famous career-defining moments in WWE.
#2 Rob Van Dam
At Wrestlemania 22, RVD became the second-ever MITB winner. RVD is considered one of the top Money in the Bank winners in WWE because he announced his MITB contract cash in beforehand.
At One Night Stand 2006, he cashed in his contract once against John Cena for the WWE championship. The crowd was very red hot at that time and only wants Rob Van Dam as the winner. However, RVD’s victory over Cena did not last for many days as he was getting caught with marijuana and forced WWE to end his reign.
#3 Mr. Kennedy (He lost the MITB contract to Edge)
Kennedy won the match at WrestleMania 23. However, he just held the contract for only 36 days and lost it to Edge on RAW. Edge cashed this contract on next night on SmackDown against The Undertaker. He became the first superstar to hold a MITB contract two times.
#4 CM Punk
CM Punk is also considered one of the best Money In The Bank winners of all time. He won his first Money in the Bank contract back in WrestleMania 24 where he defeated Mr. Kennedy, Chris Jericho, John Morrison, Shelton Benjamin, Carlito, and Montel Porter in the ladder match.
He cashed his MITB contract against Edge for World Heavyweight Championship after Edge was destroyed by Batista at WWE Draft.
#5 CM Punk
CM Punk won a back-to-back MITB briefcase when he defeated Christian, Shelton Benjamin, Kane, Finlay, MVP, Kofi Kingston, and Mark Henry at WrestleMania 25. After Edge, he becomes the second-ever superstar to win the MITB briefcase twice.
#6 Jack Swagger
At WrestleMania 26, Jack Swagger defeated Christian, Dolph Ziggler, Kane, Shelton Benjamin, Montel Vontavious Porter, Matt Hardy, Evan Bourne, Drew McIntyre, and Kofi Kingston to win the Money in the Bank contract. He cashed in against Edge for World Heavyweight Championship at SmackDown.
#7 Kane
At the first-ever Money In the Bank 2010 pay-per-view, Kane won the briefcase against Christian, Matt Hardy, Big Show, Dolph Ziggler, Kofi Kingston, Drew McIntyre, and Cody Rhodes. He cashed in the contract in less than an hour.
He won World Heavyweight Championship against Rey Mysterio on the same night just after his match against Jack Swagger. It was considered one of the iconic moments in MITB history.
#8 The Miz
In the same show Money In the Bank 2010, The Miz won the briefcase against Randy Orton, Chris Jericho, Edge, John Morrison, Evan Bourne, Ted DiBiase, and Mark Henry.
#9 Alberto Del Rio
At Money in the bank 2011, Alberto Del Rio defeated Alex Riley, Evan Bourne, Jack Swagger, Kofi Kingston, Miz, R-Truth, and Rey Mysterio. He cashed his contract in SummerSlam 2011. WWE Champion CM Punk vs. WWE Champion John Cena with Triple H as the special guest referee was the main event and Alberto cashed in after Kevin Nash attacked CM Punk after the match.
#10 Daniel Bryan
In the same event Money in the bank 2011, Daniel Bryan won his first MITB contract after defeating Cody Rhodes, Heath Slater, Justin Gabriel, Kane, Sheamus, Sin Cara, and Wade Barrett. He cashed his contract at TLC by pinning Big Show to win the World Heavyweight championship. It elevated my career of Bryan to new heights.
#11 John Cena
John Cena won the contract at Money in the Bank 2012 by defeating Big Show, Chris Jericho, Kane, and The Miz is one of the best MITB matches of all time. He cashed in his contract just 8 days after winning at Raw 1000.
During John Cena vs CM Punk at Raw 1000 for the WWE championship, Cena won by disqualification after Big Show interrupted. Due to this CM Punk retained the title and John Cena became the first cash-in to fail.
#12 Dolph Ziggler
In Money in the Bank 2012, Ziggler won his first contract by defeating Christian, Cody Rhodes, Damien Sandow, Santino Marella, Tensai, and Tyson Kidd. His MITB briefcase run was too long for 267 days. However, he cashed his contract against Alberto Del Rio at Raw after WrestleMania in 2013. His cash-in is considered one of the best moments in Post-Mania Raw history.
#13 Randy Orton
At Money in the Bank 2013, Randy Orton defeated Christian, CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Rob Van Dam, and Sheamus to become Mr. Money in the bank. He cashed in his contract after SummerSlam main event when Daniel Bryan defeated John Cena for the WWE championship and ruined the happy moment for Bryan and his fans. It was the beginning of The Authority era. Triple H was the guest referee in the match and attacked Bryan after his victory.
#14 Damien Sandow
Sandow won the contract by defeating Cesaro, Cody Rhodes, Dean Ambrose, Fandango, Jack Swagger, and Wade Barrett at Money in the Bank 2013. He became the first man in history to ever cash in and outright lose. John Cena defeated him and retained the title after Sandow cashed in his contract.
#15 Seth Rollins
Seth Rollins’ cash in is considered one of the best because he cashed his contract during the main event of WrestleMania between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns. He won the contract by defeating Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger, Kofi Kingston, and Rob Van Dam at Money in the Bank 2015. He also breaks the record of Ziggler by holding the briefcase for 273 days.
#16 Sheamus
Sheamus defeated Dolph Ziggler, Kane, Kofi Kingston, Neville, Randy Orton, and Roman Reigns at Money in the Bank 2016 to become Mr. Money in the Bank. At Survivor Series, Roman Reigns become WWE World Heavyweight Champion by defeating Dean Ambrose in a tournament’s final. However, Reigns’ first-world title victory was ruined by Sheamus when he cashed in his contract just after the match.
#17 Dean Ambrose
He won the contract at Money in the Bank 2016 PPV. Dean Ambrose defeated Alberto Del Rio, Cesaro, Chris Jericho, Kevin Owens, and Sami Zayn. On the same night, Seth Rollins defeated Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship but Ambrose cashed his contract after the match to win WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
#18 Carmella
2017 edition was the only brand-exclusive Money in the Bank event to be held during either of WWE’s brand extension periods. Carmella (with James Ellsworth) defeated Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Natalya, and Tamina to win the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship match contract. Carmella won the first-ever women’s Money in the Bank match.
#19 Baron Corbin
Baron Corbin defeated AJ Styles, Dolph Ziggler, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and Shinsuke Nakamura to get a WWE Championship match contract. Later, Corbin cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on the August 15 episode of SmackDown, but as soon as the match started, he attacked John Cena, allowing WWE Champion Jinder Mahal to roll him up for the victory, making Corbin the third wrestler to fail to win a title upon cash-in.
#20 Alexa Bliss
In the 2018 edition, Alexa Bliss defeated Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Ember Moon, Lana, Naomi, Natalya, and Sasha Banks. Later on the same night, Bliss cashed in her Money in the Bank contract and performed a “Bliss DDT” and “twisted Bliss” in succession to win the title for the third time.
#21 Braun Strowman
In the main event of 2018, Braun Strowman defeated Bobby Roode, Finn Bálor, Kevin Owens, Kofi Kingston, Rusev, Samoa Joe, and The Miz for the MITB contract.
#22 Bayley
Bayley won the contract in Money in the Bank 2019 and cashed in the same night against Charlotte Flair. Charlotte just defeated Becky for SmackDown women’s championship. Bayley won the ladder match by defeating Mandy Rose, Carmella, Ember Moon, Natalya, Dana Brooke, Naomi, and Nikki Cross.
#23 Brock Lesnar
Lesnar won the contract in the same event Money in the Bank 2019. Original participants for the match were Sami Zyan, Ricochet, Drew McIntyre, Baron Corbin, Randy Orton, Andre, Finn Balor, and Ali. However, Zyan does not participate in the match due to the attack from Braun Strowman and Lesnar appeared at the end of the match and grab the briefcase.
#24 Otis
The 2020 edition was pre-recorded due to COVID. The match was recorded at WWE’s Titan Towers global headquarters building in Stamford, Connecticut. Both the men’s and women’s Money in the Bank ladder matches were contested simultaneously at WWE Global Headquarters. Otis defeated AJ Styles, Aleister Black, Daniel Bryan, King Corbin, and Rey Mysterio to win the contract.
#25 Asuka
The 2020 edition was pre-recorded due to COVID. In the main event, both the men’s and women’s Money in the Bank ladder matches were contested simultaneously at WWE Global Headquarters. Asuka defeated Carmella, Dana Brooke, Lacey Evans, Nia Jax, and Shayna Baszler.
#26 Nikki A.S.H
Nikki A.S.H. defeated Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Liv Morgan, Naomi, Natalya, Tamina, and Zelina Vega to become the Money in the Bank winner 2021 edition. Many fans called this women’s match as weakest Money in the Bank match ever.
#27 Big E
Big E defeated Drew McIntyre, John Morrison, Kevin Owens, King Nakamura, Ricochet, Riddle, and Seth Rollins to win the contract for the first time. In the final moments of the match, Big E stopped Rollins and performed the Big Ending on Rollins off the ladder. Big E then ascended the ladder and unhooked the briefcase to win the match.
