WWE SummerSlam 2019 Results and updates | 11 August 2019

WWE SummerSlam 2019 is around the corner this Sunday from Toronto. Canadian crowd is always energetic. SummerSlam is considered as second biggest WWE show in a calendar year after WrestleMania.

This WWE made some unique matches and also left some space for ongoing storylines like unknown attacker attacked Roman Reigns multiple time on both Raw and SmackDown Live. Goldberg and Trish Stratus are back once again. Bray Wyatt will make his long-awaited in-ring return in WWE as his evil character the Fiend.

Results-

Pre-show matches-

Drew Gulak (c) vs Oney Lorcan – Drew Gulak retains the title.

Drake Maverick comes and says that no one pays attention to his issues. Meanwhile, R-Truth and Carmella were hiding under the glass table of the discussion panel.

Apollo Crews vs Buddy Murphy – In between the match, Erick Rowan attacked Murphy to the response of his allegations against him during SmackDown Live. Murphy won by disqualification.

Elias is out and he is doing his usual schtick of insulting the town with a promo. WWE Hall of Famer Edge returned the speared Elias.

Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross (c) vs The IIconics for the Women’s Tag Team Championships – Alexa Bliss is dressed up as Buzz Lightyear. After a short match, Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross defeat The IIconics to retain the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.

Main Show-

WWE RAW Women’s Championship: Becky Lynch vs Natalya (Submission Match) – 

Both the women tried their submission locks multiple times during the match. Natalya reverses the escape attempt to lock in the Sharpshooter. Becky manages to use the side of the ring to drag herself out. Natalya tries to lock it in again, but Becky reverses and locks in the Disarm-her.

Winner- Becky Lynch.

Goldberg vs Dolph Ziggler – 

The match was shorter than you thought. 2 superkicks from Ziggler and 1 spear from Goldberg.

Winner – Goldberg.

Goldberg back in the ring after Ziggler provoke him again and hit spears.

Drake Maverick interrupts New Day backstage in a weird segment. The foreign commentators have two impostors among them — R-Truth and Carmella!

AJ Styles vs Ricochet for the United States Championship-

Ricochet takes out Gallows and Anderson on the outside. Styles takes advantage and drops him on the rope. Ricochet drops AJ off the ropes and is looking to hit the Twisting Moonsault, but STYLES CATCHES HIM WITH A STYLES CLASH! THAT’S IT!

Winner – AJ Styles.

 Ember Moon vs Bayley (c) for the WWE Women’s SmackDown Championship-

Bayley and Ember are in action, with Bayley trying to slow things down. After a tough match, Ember Moon hits a Hurricanrana on Bayley and then a Lift Codebreaker, after which tries to get a pinfall, but fails. Bayley does a Belly to Bayley from the top rope for a pinfall. Bayley wins.

Winner – Bayley.

Kevin Owens vs Shane McMahon –

Shane McMahon asks for the mike and has something to say. He introduces a Special Guest Enforcer. Elias. Elias tries to distract Kevin on the outside. Kevin now has to keep his eyes on both Stars. After some time, Elias tells Kevin to use a chair knowing that it will mean that Kevin is disqualified. Kevin uses the steel chair to decimate Elias. Completely breaks him in half! He throws him over the barricade and enters the ring with the steel chair. He does not hit Shane with the steel chair, but while the referee is not looking hits him with a low blow. A STUNNER!

Winner – Kevin Owens.

 Trish Stratus vs Charlotte Flair –

Trish is dominating Charlotte completely in the match early on. Charlotte tries an Exploder, but Trish manages to reverse it into a pin. Many near falls in the match. Charlotte locks in the Figure Four. NOW A FIGURE EIGHT! Trish is in pain. TRISH TAPS!

Winner – Charlotte Flair.

After the match, the crowd breaks out into a “thank you, Trish!” chant.

Kofi Kingston vs Randy Orton for the WWE Championship –

Kofi and Randy face off against each other in the ring. The two battle in the corner. The match is really intense. Orton tries a suplex. Kingston fights out of it. Kingston hits a diving DDT. Orton kicks out. Kingston chops Orton down to the mat. Dropkick by Kingston. In the end, Kingston and Orton are both counted out.

Winner – Kofi Kingston retains the WWE Championship via Double Countout.

Bray Wyatt (The Fiend) vs Finn Balor –

The Fiend chokes Bálor. The Fiend slams Bálor’s head down to the mat. The Fiend hits a nasty looking uranage. Thee Fiend stares at his hands. The Fiend seems to be struggling with himself. The Fiend catches Bálor in the Mandible Claw. Bálor passes out and his shoulders are counted down.

Winner – The Fiend

Seth Rollins vs Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship – 

Brock takes the fight to Seth Rollins and throws him from corner to corner. This is already early. Brock Lesnar hits a German Suplex, but Seth lands on his feet. SETH HITS A STOMP! NEAR-FALL! After a tough match, Rollins hit two stomps but Lesnar kicks out. Rollins goes for the third Stomp, Lesnar catches tries an F-5! ROLLINS REVERSES AND HITS A SUPERKICK! STOMP TO LESNAR! ROLLINS HAS WON IT! ROLLINS HAS WON IT! ROLLINS IS THE UNIVERSAL CHAMPION!

Winner – Seth Rollins.

That was the show. It was a solid show.
