Edge Vs Randy Orton
This will be Edge vs Orton II at Backlash. Edge defeated Orton at WrestleMania 36 in their first encounter after Edge’s return. This time Orton challenged Edge to a standard wrestling match.
Prediction- Randy Orton is expected to win this affair to make their rivalry 1-1 equal.
Drew McIntyre(c) vs Bobby Lashley – WWE Championship
Under MVP’s stable Bobby Lashley had elevated to the main title picture. After defeating Seth Rollins at Money in the Bank, McIntyre has another big challenge.
Prediction- Choice is tough but still McIntyre is expected to retain WWE Championship.
Braun Strowman(c) vs The Miz & John Morrison – Universal Championship
This match was official on SmackDown Live and Strowman will defend his championship in a handicap match.
Prediction- Strowman is expected to retain his title. He defeated Bray Wyatt at Money in the Bank so there is no chance he will lose his title to Miz and Morrison.
Asuka(c) vs Nia Jax – Raw Women’s Championship
Nia Jax got Raw Women’s championship shot by defeating Natalya and Charlotte Flair in a triple threat #1 contenders match at RAW.
Prediction- Asuka is expected to retain her title as she is one of the most entertaining performers during no audience era or WWE.
Jeff Hardy vs Sheamus
At SmackDown Live, we saw an incident where Jeff Hardy was arrested by police in accused of hitting Elias with a car. Next week, Hardy came to SmackDown Live and told everyone “eyewitnesses told them the man who fled the scene of the car crash had red hair and a red beard”. Hardy and Sheamus fought over the issue and WWE announced that the two superstars will face each other at WWE Backlash 2020 in a singles match.
Prediction- Jeff Hardy is expected to win this encounter.
Bayley (c) and Sasha Banks (c) vs The IIconics vs Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross – WWE Women’s Tag Team championship
SmackDown Women’s champion Bayley with her best friend Sasha Banks recently won the WWE Women’s Tag Team championship. WWE announced a triple threat match for this title after that. Both Ilconics and Alexa-Cross are contenders for the title from RAW and SmackDown respectively.
Prediction– Bayley and Sasha Banks are expected to retain the titles.
Apollo Crews (c) vs. Andrade – United States Championship
The rivalry between these two men will be renewed at Backlash. Andrade took Crews out of Money in the Bank, injuring his knee in a United States title match in the lead to the pay-per-view. Crews would come back to win the belt off Andrade. It was the first major championship for the Crews in WWE.
Prediction– Apollo Crews is expected to retain the title.
