Money In the Bank history
The match was introduced by WWE at WrestleMania 21 in 2005. The format of the match is simple. A contract containing a championship match whenever the winner wants hanging over the ring. Multiple superstars fought each other in a ladder match to grab the briefcase. The matches were held every year on WrestleMania.
However, from 2010 WWE introduced its own pay-per-view. In 2017, first ever Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match was added in the show. It was won by Carmella. Edge was the first ever Money in the Bank winner when he won the match at WrestleMania 21 in 2005.
