3 Reasons why Raw Women’s Championship is headlining WrestleMania 35

So, it’s official now. Raw Women’s championship match between Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte Flair will headline WrestleMania 35. This will be the first time when a women wrestling match will headline WrestleMania. WrestleMania 35 will be live from MetLife Stadium and streaming live on WWE Network around the world on April 7.

The match had already huge mainstream attention from all over the world. The match between The baddest Woman on the planet versus The Man versus The Queen is already a main talkative point in wrestling business right now. Let’s have a look for 3 reasons why Raw Women’s Championship match is headlining WrestleMania 35.

#3 Ronda and Becky are highly popular

Ronda Rousey had proved herself as an excellent in-ring performer so far. Her rough style of wrestling and the way she sold the moves during matches have proved her capability. Becky Lynch is also an excellent in-ring performer and she already proved it against Charlotte Flair Evolution pay-per-view.

The time is right and WWE knew it. WWE will surely want to cash the popularity of Ronda and Becky in WrestleMania 35. Involvement of Ronda Rousey in the main event will surely attract mainstream media from the world. Don’t forget Charlotte, she carried women’s division in WWE for a long time.

#2 Women’s Revolution in WWE

The term divas changed into women superstars and the championship changed from Divas championship to Women’s championship. WWE always tried to show their fans that they want a revolutionary change in women’s division and time to time proved it.

WWE introduced a women Royal Rumble match and then women Elimination Chamber match and then women Money in the Bank match. Last year WWE introduced first ever all women pay-per-view Evolution. The thing that left was women headlining biggest show of the year WrestleMania. It was a wise decision by WWE at the correct time.

#1 A long buildup

A match between Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair was rumored from a very long time. When Charlotte broke Asuka’s stream at WrestleMania 34, rumored got fired. But things changed drastically when Becky turned heel on Charlotte at SummerSlam 2018 and got cheers from WWE Universe.

Then Nia punched Becky just before Survivor Series. It canceled the match between Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey and the incident put Becky on top of her popularity. The fans started pushing the match to WrestleMania and finally, The Man won Royal Rumble match to earn the opportunity for Women’s title.

The buildup between these three superstars got many ups and downs. Involvement of McMahon family and Ronda’s husband Travis also maintained the momentum throughout the time.
